ID tag says CVE-080520 - small box with some vacuum tubes and a Navy
anchor acceptance stamp found at an aircraft crash site. I don't know
what a class 08 or CVE Navy Type code would be, but it could be some
BuAer scheme instead. Sorry, that's all the info I have.
Any thoughts?

Nick,
I came across your site when researching a part found at an aircraft
crash site. I wrote down what I found as CVE-080520. It's about the
size of a hamburger box and appears to have add vacuum tubes in it. I
can't match up CVE with any known Naval designation. I know CV could
have been the manufacturing code for Weston Instruments but I can't
find a radio system component that is "CVE" anything. Could you help
shed some light perhaps?
