Can't be a PB4Y2 with that small cruise range, John. Published specs
were over ten times that figure. Just to be sure, there are period
photos of the exterior of the PB4Y2 at the bottom of my web page at
http://aafradio.org/sidebar/PB4Y2_Line_Maintenance_Manual.html
Where is the aft ball turret? Top or belly? Ball turret in the nose
sounds like a B-17G - its range is 2,000 miles, which would coincide
with a typo on the photo.
