I was cleaning out my email heap and came across this from armyradios list.
I don't know that I previously forwarded this
here. What's particularly interesting to me is the apparent late date of
actual real-life workday use of the BC-348, BC-191
pair. -Hue Miller

Hi Hue !!!

W O W !!! What a great site !!!
Found many pictures of old radios and radio vans (Funkwagen M e.g.) which I
know since 1956 !!! That time I was 12 yrs old and I was allowed to climb
into a "Funkwagen M" of the BGS and look at the radio equipment and see how
they operated the morse-key ! This was the kick in my back for being
interested in radio and this is until now !
In 1958/1961 (still a boy) I was member of the THW (Technical Disaster Aid)
as an certified operator of the communications van equipped with two FuG7 as
a radio relay and connection from radio into land-line ! In 1961 I joined
the Bundeswehr Signal Corps and in spring of 1962 I operated the radios of
the BGS Funkwagen M (the BC-348 and BC-191) in a fixed NATO communications
link on HF !
Until my retirement 12 years ago I was working with radio, RTTY and crypto !
I know almost all the shown equipment and had many of it in my collections
since the past 50 years !
For me surfing through this site was a "time-travel" 55 years into the past
!!! Many thanks for posting the link !!!!!!!!!!!
vy 73 !
