Me too.  I was AACS and AFCS.
They don't teach much about war in school nowadays.
Trivia:  General LeMay and his friend Art Collins, had
SSB put in his airplane, and tested it where ever he went.
Air/Ground was AM then, some CW.  Headquarters at
Offutt AFB, also at Andrews AFB near Wash, DC,  had a
large Collins amateur radio SSB  transmitter, the amplifier
and its power supply stood about 4 feet tall in the floor.
Then Collins came out with the KWT-6 and the "S" Line.
Eldico made a clone of the S-Line.
When USAF went to SSB, they never looked back.
