de AFA3DJ USAF MARS
a.k.a WB2CPN in PA.
Been MARS since 1948.
Started at Andrews AFB and Pentagon.
Worked phone calls from Okinawa,
Japan, and Korea while stationed there.
Things change. People change.
The advance of technology pretty well
whacked MARS. Budget cuts helped.
DRMO's closed. Good stuff got routed
to our overseas "friends" without it going
on the books.
The military communication equipment got
so complicated that the average ham had
no way to use it. Cryptography messed up
a lot of radios.
