One can always count on Mike and Mike for terrific posts.

The DU-1 was certainly obsolete by the start of the war,
but it's also the best DF unit I've ever used.
Follow the simple written procedures and the thing
works almost like magic, even with B+ voltages
all the way down to 12 volts.
And besides- hooked up with your GF/RU,
it looks very cool ;-)
