I have the control head, but not the right mount.  The mount
specified is the MT-605A/APR-9,  but the radio fits perfectly
on an MT-52/UR. (Which I am assuming is a generic ARINC size mount).

I agree. There is not too much written about the usage
of these sets, but they are interesting. The AN/ARC-2 for
its frequency generation scheme, and the AN/ARC-39 for
its place in Aircraft Radio Corporation history.
