Jack,
I think DALE makes the "Winchester" type connectors and they will be pricey. Back in the '80's when I worked at Avantek we used them on a 3 band digital tuned oscillator for the B-2.
Anything in the works for MRCG 2012? I need to get cracking if I'm going to show anything. Work takes up a large % of my energy these days. 5.5 yrs 'till retirement then it's project time! I'm planning an extension to the garage for a shop and "play" area for the radios and trains and planes. It'll probably take that much time to permit it and build it in slow poke Santa Cruz Co.!
Jay

Subject: [Milsurplus] Connectors for AN/ARC-44
I'm working on putting one of these sets together,
nd need connectors. I've tried all the usual
uspects, but they seem to be rather scarce.
They are available new, but the prices are sky
igh. The connector bodies are cheap, but the
ins, in the quantity I need will be pretty
ricy. Before I bite the bullet, and actually
o that, I thought I'd ask here if any used cutoffs
re available.
These are a 34 pin rectangular style socket, 4 rows
f pins. There are a number of different keying and
ocking styles, but for my application, I can rely
n friction to keep it all together. One part number
have seen is an MRE-34S. These are sometimes called
Winchester connector. I've seen this connector used
n the back of the C-1414 control box for the AN/ARN-6 also.
I need 4 of them. They used the same basic connector for
he set, with different mounting arrangements.
Anybody have any in their junk box they'd like to part with?
Thanks
Jack Antonio WA7DIA/4
