I doubt that much useful information could be obtained from a table radio,
since it won't have a BFO and it won't be very sensitive or selective.
Most of us remember the maritime MF band that ran from about 420 to 515 kHz,
and how signals from coast stations would make it in to the 455 kHz IFs of
AA5 broadcast band receivers. With an incoming heterodyne signal coming
from some BCB transmitter, coast station Morse could often be copied. But
it's unlikely anything similar could be used for a BCB receiver tuned to
the new band.
I've missed the old MF Morse band more than anything that has disappeared
from the radio spectrum in my lifetime. The new band won't make up for
its absence, but it holds some potential to be otherwise rather interesting.
