[Milsurplus] Aircraft Trailing Wire Antennas

I've seen two kinds of trailing wire antennas on large
military aircraft, but all my actual exposure was the
one on the C-47 we had.
One kind had a short tube sticking out of the belly of
the airframe at an angle.  The weight at the end of the
wire was pulled up taunt to the end of the tube.
The other kind pulled the weight up flush with the skin
of the aircraft.
My Question:  About how much did, or does, these
weights weigh?  They were tear drop shaped, and
about eight inches long, (I think).
