I liked the looks of the receiver from start, and I still think it looks 
cool.
I tend to like the appearance of gear that looks like it was constrained
by hard space limitations, like in a plane or tank.  However, I have never
at all  liked single-knob, no bandspread general coverage receivers. More
fun, I think, to use is equipment that has a narrower tuning range, even
something such as BC-654 or BC-1306. The BC-348 of course, also has a
much better kcs/ knob revolution spec than the ARR-7. It must be lots of
fun, I'd guess, to tune in  SSB traffic on say, 14 or 21 Mcs.
