Steve,

Following info mostly derived from SIG 5.

PL-96 used on one end of Cord CD-207, used with Radio Receiver BC-227 and
BC-227-A (p/o SCR-203).

Nothing on PL-98 except that it fits SO-78. SO-78 entry only says it fits
PL-98. The only use I ever found for PL-98 was using the insert to build
connectors for RBM, RBS, TBX rcvr, ZB, etc.

PL-71 used with SCR-189 or SCR-209 Radio Sets. Two were on CD-179 & CD-182
Cord (same cords, different lengths) connecting BC-176 or BC-176-A
Transmitter to PE-48 Motor Generator/Battery Box.

PL-72 (I have one on hand) used with SCR-189 or SCR-209 Radio Sets. Two
were on CD-178, CD-212 & CD-243 Cord (same cords, different lengths)
connecting BC-176 or BC-176-A Transmitter to BC-206 or BC-206-A Control Box.

There could be other applications as SIG 5 typically only gives the initial
application.
