Here's some photos of the rarely seen in real life, German mine
detector. Only the main unit; the search head, if I remember,
was a square outline type thing. You may notice that the unit's
cabinet strongly resembles, if in fact not identical to, several
of the German manpack radios, for example, the Feldfu series,
which used 2.4 volt vibrator supplies, a superregen circuit,
and operated, for most models, above 100 MHz -- but had
rather short operational range.
