Operation Lighthouse


1. Situation

           a. Establish communications with other Lighthouse - Lightships
World Wide

2. Mission

           a.        The basic objective of the mission is to promote
public awareness of 
                      Lighthouses and lightships and there need for
preservation and restoration 
                      and at the same time promote amateur Radio and to
foster International 
                      Good will.

3. Execution

           a.        Establish A Communication outpost at Sandy Hook
Lighthouse #US0035
                     Fort Hancock, NJ

          (1) Erect two High Frequency Antennas
          (2) Erect Two VHF Antennas
          (3) Erect Shelters
          (4) Provide access to General Public
          (5) Provide literature on Amateur Radio for the General Public
          (6) Alert Media and Local politicians  


b. Operational Instructions

          (1) Radio operations will be with the 80 – 6 Meter Amateur
Bands
          (2) Modes of Operation will be CW, SSB, PSK-31, FM
          (3) All contacts logged via computer software.
          (4) Special Event Certificate will be made available 


4. Command and control  

          a. Call Sign trustee has issued permission to use Fort Monmouth
A.R.C. call sign.
          b. All Amateur Radio commutations will be performed using the
club call sign” Kilo Two Uniform Sera Alpha “ K2USA 



We all hope to work as many stations as we can this year, weather
premitting.
