"Here is a documented Gibson Girl rescue:

73, Bruce WA8TNC....."

Bruce, please provide citation of your source for this account.
Only thing I have ever read at all along similar lines, is
Greenland crash landing of a group of planes, and radio was
restored to working to radio for rescue.

One of the old Radio News mentioned in a paragraph, some
kind of honorary club for fliers who had used the Gibson
Girl to aid in their rescue. But - NO further details as to how
many, NOR any single account....waaaaaa.......

I was surprised that the rescue plane had dropped a raft.
I thought all over-water bombers carried their own raft
with all equipment. Well, maybe not ALL, RIckenbacker
on the raft in the Pacific for over a month, also had
no radio. -Hue Miller
