The one I have from Fair Radio 10 or 15 years back is the same alunium frame but the material is a poly plastic in an international orange/red color.

The frame is thin wall aluminum tubing, the fabric is something like nylon
r maybe silk... thin, tightly woven; light but strong.

================

 What kind of material do these box kites use?
 The manuals for lifeboat radios talk about kite use but
 don't provide useful photos of the kite, nor have I ever
 seen one. They must all have given their lives providing
 fun for the eventual owners.
