[Milsurplus] Prc-6 frequency stability and battery box design

I have  several PRC-6 units  and it is one of my favorite  radios to 
take to a Rally or hamfest.
Often  the sets will lose lock but a quick adjustment of the XTR OSC 
coil #5 usually results in
a "locked" condition.  I have done this "in the field" without proper 
test equipment by
using a near by receiver (take the antenna off of the monitor 
receiver)  turn the #5  coil (XTR OSC)  while
transmitting   until it locks on frequency   and note the coil "dial" 
reading and then turn it until it unlocks and note the dial, then set 
the #5 coil dial in between the two readings.
Always make sure your bias supply is working properly.
