It works with the point of the safety pin gently
touching the blue on the blade.
Are blue blades available?
I tried this: One detector is made of Carborundum,
And the High School Encyclopedia said that was
what Stone Masons used to smooth up concrete.
I broke off a small piece, but it didn't work.
Then, Galena is made of Lead and Sulfur. Mixing
the two in the basement furnace melted one, and
burnt the other. Making Galena didn't work, either.
The razor blade and safety did, but touchy.
