John,
Fair Radio used to sell brand new 500 W military static inverters with 120
VAC @ 60 Hz input and 117 VAC @ 400 Hz output. This is the CV-2488/U. I was
lucky to get one of them from a friend for free, as he got it at a hamfest
with some other gear, and he had to relieve the seller of the inverter
(free) as part of the deal...
Fair Radio currently has an inverter kit which contains the whole magnetics
package only, with schematics and you can build your own. This is spec'd for
115 VAC 400 Hz output, at 500 W. The primary voltage for this kit is 28 VDC.
The price is $67. See
https://www.fairradio.com/catalog.php?mode=viewitem&item=3044 .
Best regards,
Meir WF2U

Subject: RE: [armyradios] 400 Hz Static Inverter
First choice: 115 VAC 60 Hz.
But I don't want something that doesn't need a cart, two men and a boy to
move.
Second choice: 24-28 VDC in.
Third choice: 12-14 VDC in.
I need 80 or 115 VAC at 380-800 Hz @ <300 Watts.
And no screaming mimis (rotary inverters). A Georator is out too.
