Guided by the suggestions I received, I succeeded by inserting 2 copies of
the message form into a Word document, which prints out nicely.  The root
of the problem is that for photo printing, the software associated with the
printer insists on forcing its own aspect ratios (5 by 7 or 4 by 6) onto
the "photo" (by cropping) in all modes with more than one photo per page.
This software kicks in no matter which program I start from.   I can print
a photo in its own aspect ratio only if I do it full page, which is too
big.
