[Milsurplus] Stoddart NM-20B / AN/PRM1A

I picked up a Stoddart NM-20B  field strength meter which appears to be 
brand new extrnally and internally. The bandswitch is seized and appears 
some slight corrosion is evident in the gear chain. The gears look like 
an aluminum alloy and wonder if others have experienced this type of 
seizure and what would be a suggested chemical to remove the corrosion? 
The rest of the box smells new and looks new. The accessories that come 
with it are not  so new but they are all there.
