One thing I neglected to add for anyone attempting the method I posted:
should you decide to wipe off the tag with paint thinner/spirits for a
repaint, be sure to clean it well afterward with rubbing alcohol or the
likes before attempting to re-paint. Otherwise you can get areas where the
paint will pull back and not adhere.
