[Milsurplus] OT: Chilling B-52 Radio Traffic from OperationLinebacker II

All -
I listened to the whole tape, and wondered what a uplink?; meant.  Me 
not SAM savvy so why fire SAM's blind unless there were more antique 
sensors, proximity fuse on board?
