An on-line manual for the AN/GRC-109 is at:

  http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/military/grc109/

If you're using the associated T-784A/GRC-109, you theoretically
can connect the receiver's antenna and ground terminals to the
associated terminals on the right side of the T-784A panel. But...

If you look at the schematic for the T-784 in the manual above,
you'll see that the receive antenna path through the T-784 has a
lot of loss. Most people just use use a separate antenna for the
R-1004 (even it it's just a random wire) rather than try to use
the same antenna to which the T-784 is connected.

I've never really warmed up to the AN/GRC-109. I bought a complete
set at Dayton 15 years ago when they were still cheap, but I find
that the old AN/GRC-9 is much more attractive.

The interesting thing about the AN/GRC-109A models is that they
were made on a 1969 contract by Oklahoma Aerotronics for US Army
use in Vietnam. The nomenclature plate for the R-1004A/GRC-109
incorrectly spells "RECEIVER" as "RECIEVER". American public
education rears its ugly head!
