My guess would also be $5K, perhaps a bit more. Was a time a few years
back folks were paying $3K for a decent T-368, today $1K seems more
average. I've seen shelters from $500 to $2K. Add in the other
accessories and the convenience of getting it all at once. My buddy
brought a clean, re-capped SP-600 receiver to NEAR-Fest last weekend
with a price of $350 or BO on it. All it needed was a meter, $50 on
ebay, less if you shop around. He didn't even get so much as one offer
despite telling folks he'd take less to avoid bringing it back home.
And yes - unless you live in the neighborhood, transportation costs
will be high. Even if you have a truck and can move it for yourself.
It's possible he had one of those 'experts' give him a price based on
what they think it should be worth, not what they'd be willing to pay.
It's hard to take those values seriously.
