[Milsurplus] How I Use an LM

The neatest use I ever had for an "LM"
(Actually it was a BC-221, but who's counting?):

Back in the 1980s, I was very seriously involved in the
1750 meter band (160-190 KCs). I actually accomplished
some "firsts" on that band, with a lot of help and encouragement
from some awesome people.
My first transmitter, beacon "MRC" in Mercury, Nevada
on 181.84 KC, used a BC-221 as a VFO.
It had a hammed-up AC supply in it (not built by me)
so it drifted a little, which is poison to a 1750 mtr rig,
but it still managed to garner my first reception reports
from California and Utah.
When/If I ever manage to build the shack I want for
my actual operating postion, my best 221 will be with
the USAAC rigs and my LM will be with the Navy sets.
