I have three operating positioins, and sometimes 4 when out on the deck.
The 221 contains the offical military 110 volt powersupply. I have the TS
174 sitting next to the 221, and the battery cable from the TS 174 will
reach the power supply terminal strip in the BC 221. The BC 221 power
supply is able to power either unit. Both are modulated. I have about 4
feet of wire hanging on each sets antenna terminal. They are placed on the
corner of a desk in the corner of the main shack. The BC 221 is usually sest
to 3885, and the TX 174 to 50.4. I can pick up the modulated signal from
either set to zero beat a receiver, then the transmitter. I use them on 75,
40, 20, 10, and 6 meters. This keeps me from hauling around the freq
counter. It also a source to check the alignment of receivers, etc. I
ocassional check the calibration with WWV. Some of the sets the above are
used on are T 368/R 390, SCR 274N, BC 229/BC230, GF 11/RU 16, BC 223/BC 312,
BC 191/BC 312, AVT 112/AVR 20, ART 13/BC348, TCS, Gonset Communicator III on
6 meters, Heath Kit DX 60, HR 10 receiver and HG 10 VFO on 10 Meters and
others such as GRC 9, BC 1306, BC 654, TBX, and BC 454.
