Dennis and Robert nailed it.  I have some photos and brief discussion of

It seems to me that the Rajah terminal approach was a more elegant way 
of providing antenna connections than push pin terminals, especially 
where a patching capability was required.  In larger aircraft, the Navy 
used Plexiglas panels with the spark plug terminals mounted on them to 
provide rapid patching of a given antenna to a given receiver or 
transmitter.  The photo of the radio operator's position at the very 
bottom of http://aafradio.org/flightdeck/RAX-1.htm has two of these 
patch panels in it, fit into space between the fuselage and equipment.
