Amongst my collection are six LMs, of which half don't have books. One and
maybe two of the none book ones are earmarked to become parts donors to get
those of the rest as what need parts running again*. With them is a
BC-221-something (one with modulation) that's probably not restorable but
would be a good parts donor to make another run. Its [wooden] case is in
bad shape as well and may not be able to be salvaged. I'd actually like to
create a TS-164 if I can make it work again but I doubt that'll happen.
There aren't a whole lot of empty cases for them floating around with the
power supply thingie on the back so I can use it with my BC-348.
* Calibration crystals seem to be a problem but I don't yet know how much of
one.
What to do with the parts donors after they've done their primary task?
Make something else with what's left. When all the dust settles, one of the
parts LMs will still have an intact case and panel and the other's case will
be intact although the panel won't be which means I'll even have enclosures
for the projects. Sooo ... "everything's used except the squeal." :-)
