[Milsurplus] My "ARC-5" Impressions (long)

I have swapped IF and BFO coils between sets with excellent results,
the RF coil pack gets more dicey as you go up in frequency. However,
they have always worked well without re-alignment, and the dial
calibration was surprisingly close. Tweaking the oscillator padder and
trimmer was all that was really needed. The RF amp plate coil usually
was on peak, and the antenna coil was brought dead on with the front
panel antenna trimmer. What fun it was, a couple bushel baskets full
of ARC-5s in various stages of disassembly and condition, and a best
friend to share it with. Warm winter nights and memories from 1967.
