Not being made of The Stern Stuff and wanting to avoid a total disassembly/rebuild of my BC-342 and 314 to rid them of deeply buried, potentially troublesome bypass caps (BBOD's), I'm going to try this tonight!

El cheapo 12VAC transformer to warm the filaments, 12VDC 10AH battery for starters, Hi-Z 'phones.
