Mount for the TN-6 is much smaller than that
for the modulator, Jay. As for painting and relettering-
I've never been sucessfull at anything more than
"touch-up" when it comes to wrinkle paint,
and I don't have a clue about re-lettering, sorry to say.
If I were you? Hold on to your hat....
Strip it, clean it and give it a quality coat of black enamel.

Don't look so shocked, ya'll ;-).
I confess I've totally given-up on wrinkle paint.
I've decided not to let "the perfect be the enemy of the good"
anymore. The only piece in this set that had really bad paint
was the cover on the modulator, which was flaking and beyond
fixing. I knew exactly what would happen with a can
of wrinkle paint: spray and re-strip twice, followed by throwing
the cover in the parts bin and asking around for a better cover.
Nope- I've had enough of that, thanks.

Some of us have the "gift" of getting wrinkle to work,
and some of us don't. I'm convinced it's at least
70% pure supernatural "black magic," and
I ain't got "de wrinkle voodoo mojo, mon...."

I stripped it, cleaned it and gave it three coats of thinned
black enamel, followed by a nice satin clear coat.
It looks good and I'm happy with it. The cover of my GF-10
has the same problem and I expect (unless I can find a good
cover and transfer the nomen plates) to do exactly
the same thing with it. I don't have enough time left to me
to keep wringing my hands over runny, uneven wrinkle paint.

As for the lettering- Mike Hanz has some good insights.
