I tried that a couple of times but found no way 
to remove the end caps  without destroying the fuse body.
So I used a long drill bit, clamped the fuse body
in a vice with a ScotchBrite to prevent messing up the body
and drilled slowly through one end cap and out the other.
Slow but works.  Drill bit must be sharp.
Shook all the crud out.  Soldered an inch of
"pigtail" on the end of the PicoFuse, then inserted it, 
folded-over and tack-soldered the leads to the end-caps.
I'll post a photo later.
