You may want to do a little real research instead of depending on the opinions on Wikipedia. Much confusion arises between the Boonton Co., and BRC, the Boonton Radio Corp. Most casual investigators seem to miss the distinction for some reason.

Looks like I won't be doing the inaugural email on the Boonton reflector.
Failure on my part to do proper research, according to history on their web site:
http://boonton.com/about
They were started in 1947. Wiki says they were founded in 1934 by William D. Laughlin in Boonton NJ and acquired by Hewlett Packard in 1959.
Must be two different companies?
The Most significant development of the company founded in 1934 according to HP was there "Q" meter. Listed on the HP Virtual Museum under "Boonton type 160 Q meter":
http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/abouthp/histnfacts/museum/earlyinstruments/0010/
The description on their web page goes on to say" Boonton added to the HP family an old and well established company with an excellent reputation in a field closely related to many HP products"
It s purely antidotal and subjective comment by me, looking at the Boonton equipment I have seen at Hamfest and online sales it all appears to be much like General Radio or HP in shape, size and function. Have seen and worked with the HP Q meters but have never owned or used a Boonton instrument, but maybe I have lead a sheltered life?
