Officially, you are.  The usage as "Signal Corps Radio" is akin to "ARC-5" 
for the other four sets of that family and "Walkie-Talkie" for handheld 
"Handie-Talkie".  Common usage made up by lazy or ill informed people who didn't 
check their sources and happened to be in a position to publish widely 
their disinformation.  Pretty much like today.  :-)
