Yep, you are right, Mark, about the T-28B getting too expensive to feed. I think they consume petrol just sitting in the hangar.  BTW, I forgot to mention that my experience with the ARC-27 in the T-28B was in 1959.  Mike, W6MAB

  An ex boss of mine had a T-28B which he sold a couple of years ago. It's a neat plane, and one of my favorites. I got to fly in the back seat a few times. He had much of the original avionics in place that was still usable such as the ARN-6 compass and radar transponder, but he had removed the ARC-27 and replaced it with a storage compartment and much smaller civil aircraft radios. I have his old ARC-27, and I'd like to get it back up and running someday. I think he still flies, but that T-28B was just getting too expensive to feed.
