Subject: [Milsurplus] Military Radio Collectors Group Get Together in San
Pedro CA

Maybe I missed any current information, but it's getting close to
Saturday...

 From their web side:
"The Fall 2011 Get-Together will be held at Fort MacArthur in San
Pedro, California on Saturday November 5th, 2011 starting at 8 AM.

This event will feature an operating exercise, so get your portable
gear ready ! Dennis, W7QHO will be coordinating the exercise.

Although the activity schedule has not been provided yet, in the past
there has been no fee to attend the event, unless you buy lunch.
Also, there will be an equipment swap after lunch... and as an added
bonus, the Fort's military vehicle group always participates.

More details to follow as we get them, so please check back a couple
weeks prior to the event for complete information."

San Pedro is in the greater Los Angeles area.

Getting there is a little tricky for a first-timer, so check google
maps
http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=f
irefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=google+maps+Ft+MAcArthur&fb=1&gl=us&hq=Ft+MAcArthur

&ei=cByzTofHIcX-sQLi2uzPAw&ved=0CAUQyBM
It's located at point "A", not "B" where the old fort buildings are
located. From there on, I'm a little hazy, but think you drive in
and look to the left for activity.

John, WB6ABP, gave me a heads-up on this event. Thanks.

Dennis, W7QHO, please add any corrections to the above information.

Others, come to the swap meet, buy my BC-221, various dynamotors,
Wilcox aircraft rig, etc., and bring something to fill the newly
empty space in my garage. I wish I had gotten off my duff and had
one of my surplus rigs ready to take and use.

Jim, w6ivw
