Back in the mid and into late '60s I bought and sold 'tons' of military
surplus commo gear and test equipment. Came from Ft Riley, Ft Carson,
Schilling, Forbes and McConnell AFB's. Hardly any Navy stuff(duh
Kansas),and shipped it to Ted Dames, Space Electronics, Columbia and etc
operations where 'most' of it got rebuilt and went overseas, predominately
Israel.

A lot of HP test equipment along with ARC-58, 27 and other sophisticated
airborne comm gear etc, fire control radar equipment and bunches of AN/GRC
and PRC army gear. Was a good money making business then.

Well, if you go back and look in the old CQ and 73 Magazines, maybe QST too,
you
will occasionally see ads in the back for military electonics wanted with a
long
list of surplus gear, some of it quite old. Speculation was that these ads
were
for third-world countries revamping their military electonics. But maybe
some of
that was for the good ole USN.
