Some of my SCR-183 parts have a yellow "Serviceable" tag
attached. A few identify the serial number of the aircraft
from which they were removed. Here's a sampling:
Coil C-354 removed from BT-13A 42-1238, which crash during
a take-off accident from Newport Army Air Field in Newport, Ark.
Pilot's name was Henry W. Frazier.
The coil was removed just a few days after the accident.
Spline MC-124A, removed from A-20 Havoc 44-766,
in January of 1944. The A-20 was transferred to the RAF in 1946.
Coil C-273, removed from A-20 Havoc 43-9214 (669th BS, 416th BG)
in August of 1943. Crashed 5 mi E of Clacton-on-Sea, England Mar 4,
1944.
Coil Case C-47, removed from A-20 Havoc 41-3011 in December 1941.
Aircraft was transferred to RAF to be used as a "wireless test bed."
Must have been a lot of Havocs with SCR-283.
