re my earlier observation of a small round sticker on the side of the EF-50 tubes i have.  I found another package out in the garage that had 3 more of them in it along with a pair of brand new sockets for same.  All three of the tubes in there had the small round sticker on them that was marked 2-47.  So maybe these had a 2-47 origination date.  Anyway didn't know i had sockets for a pair of them.  Wonder what was their destiny in the ham world?

BTW, if you haven't read the article concerning them provided by Meir, do so as it is very interesting not only about eh EF-50 but the background story on the development of tubes for the WWII radar systems.  They also mentioned the Western Electric 316A of which i happened to have had one NIB, until about 10 days ago.
