The T-34B also had the ARC Type 12 VHF Nav (Omni) receiver. I forget the nomenclature. By tuning all the way down to the low end of the dial, you could pick up a local Pensacola FM station.  Helped relieve some of the boredom while some of my better students, who need no help from me, practiced their aerobatic maneuvers.  Mike, W6MAB

  I took aviation indoctrination training at NAS Corpus Christi in 1972.  The
  T-34B Mentor was most often the aircraft used.  The only radio I recall in it
  was a simplified AN/ARC-60 (only one UHF converter CV-431A/AR), which was
  A.R.C. Type 12 gear.
