You don't need permission.  Regardless of website owner's protests,
these photos were taken by U.S. military photographers
and are, therefore, in the public domain.
You have the same rights as they.

Their indexing system is clunky and confusing;
they seem to have only a few photos up until you select one,
when you find out it's a "pointer" to a larger collection which is
not always indexed logically.  Got to do a little digging.
