Here is some interesting info on the GO "Patrol Plane Transmitter" taken from
a couple sizeable Navy student pamphets:
(1) copy of "Radio Materiel School" "Aircraft Radio", Naval Research
Laboratory, Anacostia Station, Washington, D.C., First Edition August 20,
1936-covers early
to mid 1930s aircraft radio equipment.
Chapter VII. Aircraft Transmitters
"Model GO Aircraft Transmitting Equipment"
I. Designed for service on patrol type seaplanes and similar craft
II. Components: Power Unit Navy Type CHS 23026, High Frequency Transmitter Navy
Type CHS 52020, Intermediate Frequency Transmitter Navy Type CHS 52021
III. MO-PA Design: (2) 860 tubes used in each transmitter (38160 Navy Type
Number), (2) 866A tubes used in Power Unit (Navy Type Number 38166-A)
IV. Rated CW Power Out is 100 Watts into specified antennas over the ranges of
300 to 600 KC and 4000 to 13,575 KC at keying speeds up to 40 words per minute.
20% modulated MCW is availible at 1600 cycles
CHS in the equipment type numbers indicates Sylvania was the contractor.
(2) copy of "Aircraft Radio", Naval Technical Training Center, Ward Island,
Corpus Cristi, Texas; Revised-date not given, original compiled December 1942
Chapter VI. Tranmitters
The GO-3 and GO-9 are given as representitive units of the GO series. The GO-3
is discribed in some detail. Manufacture by Westinghouse. They are quite similar
in design and appearence.
Chapter VI. Transmitters
