3 items 3:

1- I have an APN-1 with a microphone and headphone jack, and maybe even a
"VOLUME"
knob, given to me by Brad Whiting. ( Among actual tons of other stuff given
me also...)
because he knows I feel sorry for some of these odd ducks. I have not
explored it farther.
I'm sure it puts out a wonderful signal and would be right at home on 420
Mcs.

2- "number of children", not "amount of children". Once you start noticing
this common
usage, "amount" for "number", you notice how often it is misstated by even
trained public speakers. ( sorry. )

3- Many decry the forgetting of the sacrifice of our servicepeople in our
defense. I suggest we also
remember those who were "written off" and forgotten after the hot wars were
over, by a
forgetful government, or as sacrifices in a larger game. Or disrespected by
lenient treatment
given to their torturers and murderers, all in the name of the same bigger
game. You can probably
think of examples on your own, without me citing some.

One of the first things I read in my childhood, a newspaper article on the
shooting down of an offcourse USAF
recon plane over Armenia, and the I recall the intercepted words of the
fighter pilots.
Let's not forget.

Could be. UPS rates have about doubled in the past five years. I shipped
a PE-237 to Topeka last month ('bout half way to you) and it cost me $105
and change.

Re: Mike's thoughts on people and
      their disinterest in history-

It's true that, as long as Westerners have a full belly and
a television set, they will pay attention to nothing beyond
how to acquire their next self-pleasuring.
They will drift along- consuming resources,
enslaving the rest of the world through their materialism
and contributing nothing but hot air and excrement.

If you wonder where I get such a harsh "attitude" about
the vast herds of thoughtless lemmings we call "humanity,"
I'll give you an example:
In downtown San Antonio stands preserved, The Alamo.
There is a sign on the door:

          "BE SILENT, FRIEND,
           HERE HEROES DIED
           TO BLAZE A TRAIL
           FOR OTHER MEN"

I have had the opportunity to stand inside for a time
and watch hundreds of school kids and adults
come through. Most were talking, laughing
or texting. None were silent. None were respectful.
Not one. There was chewing gum spit on the floor.

I have no doubt that, were blinds provided,
the majority of western people would take a leak
off the side of the Arizona Memorial.
How ironic that this is something
a Japanese person would never do.
There are many other examples.
I won't burden you with them,
since this should suffice.

Remember that, from this wreck of wasted potential,
a few will emerge who will listen, who will learn,
and who will contribute.
The mighty Furnace of Existance must burn-off
the millions of "waste-oids" in order to produce
those few; it's "the cost of doing business."

Never judge the worth of your efforts
by the opinion of something as foolish as a majority;
a "majority" is always one psychopath away
from being a lynch mob.
It is destructive dust blown about by random winds
and beneath even a moment's consideration.
We preserve history and its lessons for the few.
They are worth the effort.

Matthew 7:6

Hi Gang:

Another treasure that has become surplus to my needs. I have decided
that I only need one GDO and that will be my trusty Millen Solid State GDO.

This is a real beautiful piece of MIL test gear. It is a PRM-10 Grid
Dip Oscillator (GDO) with ALL the coils covering from 2 to 400
Mcs. It comes complete with AC supply built into the case. It is in
excellent condition. Check out the U S A F manual:

http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/military/prm10/

These are the most rugged GDOs you'll ever see. They are somewhat
hard to find. I am asking $85.00 plus shipping.

If interested please reply by e-mail.

73,

Michael, W1RC
