The T83/SR xmtr and R96/SR rcvr were also used by the Army on board ships.

The Army operated a lot of cargo vessels.  In some, they used the TCS.  In 
others they used the HT-14 (SCR-543-A) and a couple of other commercial 
marine sets drafted into the Service.
