[Milsurplus] Media Mail - again

Clete, there's a huge difference between a handful of QSLs and some
paperback books,
and a box full of QSTs or RADCOMs or Radio-Electronics or a complete run of
73 Magazine.
The latter I bought and had sent to me thru the mail. ( I think, Media Mail,
but I don't
recall for sure. ) The difference in rates, I think, means the difference
between it being
a practical purchase or not. ( BTW, I sold the complete 73s plus more, for
$15, after
learning that I could get the mag on DVDs....you can imagine how much I had
invested
in postage it cost me to ship ca. 10 boxes of HEAVY mags crosscountry....)

Music disks either big or small are exactly what Media Mail provides for
also. I shipped
MANY lbs. of boxes clearly marked "Media Mail - Music Recordings" of LP
records
and music books when I thinned out that branch of my interests. ( I put away
the
things of a child, as the Good Book says. ) No problem whatsoever.

I see Borders is going out of business. That means a 2++ hour drive now, to
a major
bookstore, which I occasionally liked to visit to scope out the military
history magazines,
"After The Battle" and all that.
