Looks like the little black box over the connecting terminals was used or not used depending on the installation. I have a number of these keys but only one with the 2 min. warning. All have the small black cover.

You are also correct - the same key was used for Navy airborne radio
se - I have not seen any photos of it used shipboard or ashore, but
ould like to hear from anyone who has more info.
