I had a really nicely made wooden box with a silver lettering on black label saying something about Nancy Infra Red (Detector?). It had a shiny cast-metal handle screwed onto to the top lid and an oblong protective "foam" rubber padding (about 2½"W x 6"L x 1/4 thick) attached at the lengthwise midpoint of the inner side of the lid. I removed the rubber pad and used as extra head padding for a headphone set - (still have the headphones and attached pad). The box was aprox: top lid: 6"W x12"L & frontal and rear sides: 8"H (x12W") . It was painted or shellac-stained a mahogany-like shade of brown -- I used it to hold contain various HB portable receivers and transceivers. The wood-type used gave off a pleasant aroma.
Haven't seen it since around 1967 -- but have stumbled upon on the internet some years ago.
Bought it on NYC's Radio Row.
