Yes, it came in a hardish black rubber covered basket sort of thing.

There was very little doc. Edmund or Meshna had a page or two. Basically:

Don't aim it at the sun
The knob is an electrical focus
I think the eyepiece focused too

The thing was fixed focus at infinity.
