The same key (aviation use, not blinker light) was mounted on the side of the AN/AQS-4 airborne
sonar stack so that the sonar could be used for CW communication. Above about 5 WPM,
everything tends to run together and becomes unintelligible.
Maybe this comes under the heading on "more information"?

This particular version was used with yardarm-mounted signalling
lights, not the mechanical signal lamps. Photos at

You are also correct - the same key was used for Navy airborne radio
use - I have not seen any photos of it used shipboard or ashore, but
would like to hear from anyone who has more info.
